I am travelling to Berlin from Australia soon and have to Transit at Heathrow from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5, can someone tell me is 90 minutes enough time or should I be changing the flight time to allow more time
Personally I would allow more time as Heathrow is a nightmare to get across and your connection time does not allow for many delays. I had nearly 3 hours between connecting flights when I was there in August and I missed my connection to my incoming flight being slightly late and because took me so long to get between the terminals. I was at a disadvantage as I had to collect my bag and check in again as it was a separate ticket, but after that experience I will always leave more time if I have to connect in Heathrow. (That was the second time I have missed a connecting flight in Heathrow due to the amount of time taken to get between terminals.)

I think you should allow more time for Heathrow, because it is a nightmare changing from one terminal to another, and the signs are not always clear either. The last time I went through Heathrow, despite having book all my travel legs under the same itinerary (although I didn't have to take my bag out and check that in again), for some reason my tickets were still not issued to me at the start so I had to queue for my second boarding pass with all other travellers who have not even checked-in yet. Then go through security again, etc. All these time adds up quickly.
If everything runs smoothly, then 90 minutes is still cutting it a little fine. Heathrow is amongst the biggest airports on the planet and the terminals are over a vast area.
You speak of Berlin, then I wonder if you have ever travelled through Frankfurt Main - right up there in the world's busiest top 10. If you've been there and thought it big and busy (it handles something like 15,000,000 passengers a year 'Less' than LHR), then stand back a step or two and put on a pair of wide angle specs. Then you'll have an idea of Heathrow's immense size.
Plus of course there are only still 4 terminals at Heathrow - not 5, as a lot of people believe and at times when there is just the slightest glitch, problems mount up by the minute. I would suggest at the very least, 2.5 hours if you're in transit between terminals.
The chances are if everything goes to plan, you'll have planty of time allowing 90 minutes. But if something goes wrong, then the place is just awful for everyone.
