Best beaches: Sakarun (island Dugi otok), Bol (island Brac), Lubenice (island Cres), Vis, Zrce (island Pag), Brela, Primosten, Mali Losinj, Tucepi, Brsec.
For historical and arhitectural monuments: Dubrovnik, Trogir, Zadar, Korcula, Rab, Split, Sibenik, Pula.
Great nature places: Kornati islands, Plitvice lakes, Paklenica, Krka river
Rafting, adventures, climbing: Zrmanja river rafting, Paklenica, Pasman island tours
Nightlife and Parties: Novalja Zrce, Hvar, Petrcane (garden fest. and soundwave fest.), Makarska
Small places with authentic mediterranean atmosphere: Komiza, Primosten, Rovinj, Omis, Rab, Korcula, Stari grad.
I think Hvar is pretty nice. The best way I have seen this described, is in this line from an - "YOU will cry when you see it. Bring tissues. You will need them." And of course, they mean because of the beauty of the island
