What shouldn't I miss in these Asian countries?

Hi,

For the Phillippines, just head for the beach. Some of the best in the world are there.

Hi Walkways - the things on the "not to be missed" list depend largely on your interests, hobbies and the type of trip. With Cambodia, I was in Siem Reap and loved it - planning on going back there. EVerybody goes to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat. That's really the main reason. In town itself, Preah Promreah Pagoda is really worth visiting and Artisans d'Angkor in the Pouk district.

With Malaysia, I didn't stay overnight in KL, I just caught the bus, spent the day there and stayed overnight at the Tunes Hotel at LCCT as I had an early flight.

Penang, Cameron Highlands, and Malacca. Both Penang and Malacca are historical places yet each are totally different. Malacca is much smaller and you can cover all the historical stuff on foot. Takes around two and a half days. Some people do a day trip from KL but this IMO is a waste of time.

Penang is much bigger and there's literally heaps of stuff to do and see. The Highlands for the climate - not humid and a constant max. temp of around 26º. Malaysians go there to escape the heat. Tea plantations are the big thing. Wouldn't waste my money going to strawberry farms, flower farms and butterfly and insect farms.

For the Philippines,

make sure to stop at Boracay or in El Nido for the beach...

Puerto Princesa Underground River, and the Chocoloate Hills in Bohol for our unique natural wonders

Banaue Rice Terraces for the centuries old rice fields by the mountains..

Vigan, Intramuros, and Cebu for the historical ruins and Spanish quarters that date back to the 1700's..

Manila would most probably your main jump off point and from here you can drive to Tagaytay for the scenic beauty of Taal Lake or drive north to the nature parks of Subic Freeport

For Beijing, definitely go to the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.

For Malaysia, just drop by the Petronas Towers

In Vietnam, definitely go to Halong Bay
