hi fellows,
m headed to europe this winter(nov10-nov30) for my honeymoon, list of places in the itinery are AMSTERDAM,GERMANY,SWITZERLAND and PARIS. not in for any adventure,rather looking for a fusion of some calm n peace n then some metropolitan city hustle. my first time there...are the destinations apt ? pls help
I know very well Amsterdam as I had been living there for 15 months. I have to say that the best period of the year for this city is definitely spring and summer as all the trees along the numerous canals are in full leaf and the green colours just add to the beauty of the centuries old buildings. In november, unfortunately this is going to be less sunny, trees will be without leaves and it's going to be much colder. However, you can still enjoy the city tremendously. I suggest that you do some bike tours of the city. There are numerous little companies that do that. Go also for a cruise on the canals. If you like museums, don't miss the Van Gogh museum, the Musée national (Rijksmuseum). I have never slept in any hotel there as I was living in a sumptuous appartment by a canal with a view on a gorgeous inner garden.
As to Germany, of course, it all depends what you like. Is it mountains? Museums? Castles? I suggest anyway, Neuschwanstein Castle. If you like museums, go to Berlin, full of them, architecture beauties, nice gardens. You can also have a look on the Rhine and do a cruise on it. Also check the Black Forest.
As to switzerland, if you like mountains and the alps, you're going to love it. Good places: the Jungfraujoch is one of Switzerland's most attractive excursion destinations. Stockhorn, Trümmelbach falls, Schilthorn, Lac Leman.
As to Paris, which is definitely the city I know best, you can have a lot of fun there. I suggest for you some activities such as: Bike About Tours, if it is not too cold; otherwise you can do the same riding a scooter: left bank scooter. C
