We are finally going to Egypt in November. Plan to spend a few days in Dahab and then in Cairo.
Need help to figure out which is the best way to travel from Dahab to Cairo?
I know there is bus and I know I can get a taxi ...

Well there is the fast and there is the cheapest when it comes to getting to Cairo from Dahab.
Fastest way is to get a private taxi or the public bus (taxi can take you direct to the airport) to Sharm and fly from Sharm (check out Egypt Air for prices). Most hotels/dive centres in Dahab can also organise you a transfer bus to Sharm Airport at a reasonable price.
Cheapest is to get the public bus. They are not bad, just long and you will be subject to loud Arabic music! Pack your lunch and have a jumper as the air con can get a bit much. Day buses leave first thing in the morning and there is also a overnight bus. They go via Sharm and the west coast of Sinai and last time I was there it cost 110 egyptian pounds. Get a taxi out to the bus station in Dahab to buy the tickets a couple of days in advance so you don't miss out. Once in Cairo get off at the Abbysia stop (not Giza) and grab a taxi to your next destination.
