Oaxaca Pacific Coast Beaches
We have done October and November trips to Oaxaca´s Pacific Coast Beaches. Puerto Escondido is a lively place with its mid November Surfing competitions. Zipolite Beach and Mazunte are much more quiet and relaxed places. Zipolite a favorite. Mexico´s Pacific side is best , the Gulf side has its problems with oil development and tropical storms we found out from a visit a few years ago.
Much to do in Oaxaca City right now, a half days drive inland from the coast. Day of the Dead starts on the last night of October.
We are planning a trip to Chacahua lagoon on Oaxaca´s Pacific coast north of Puerto Escondidoin in December, gathering info now.
Well, I don't see a question here, but I assume you want to know if there is anything to do in the town.
I loved Oaxaca. It is, for the most part, a pretty quiet place, but there are interesting things to do not far from the city, like the really good ruins. And there are lots of places to pass time drinking or eating...and they have a pretty lively central market to buy interesting stuff....The custom knife maker was my fave...
....and on the edge of town, there is a REAL Mexican market where you can buy stuff for cheap cheap cheap. They have an observatory. It's a good joint.
Good Luck In There
D
