hello from athens,greece.
the answer to your 1st question is definetly YES.prices in sep are lower as it is low season and of course the waters are warm enough to swim.i could tell you that waters are hotter in august-sep than may-june as the summer in may is just starting.
my job is flight coordination at athens int airport,so i could help you answering any questions about flights around greece.
Me and my friends have been to most islands,so I could provide info about its one you are interested.
if you have more questions, you can reply here or add me in msn frantic21 at msn.com.
would like to help.

Hello Amy,

September is "still" warm, but its not summer. As for cheaper, you should check. I know that the "high" season for Santorini goes all the way to mid-september but other places could be empty by then.
I would suggest Santorini for honeymooners.
Paros: very nice, many sandy beaches, gets a bit windy as the season progresses. Many Greeks until end of August, after that it gets kinda empty. I would suggest Paros in July, or even better, go to neigboring Naxos.
Mykonos: mykonos is a PARTY island. I wouldn't suggest it for honeymooners, except if you are really wild party people, like to cross-dress or are filthy rich!
Milos: Milos is gorgeous, its off the beaten path. It is like Mykonos was 50 years ago. I dont know however if in September there is anything going on over there. It is really quiet in the off season.
Corfu: Off the beaten path? i dont think so! It is a dencly populated island, very popular with locals and with neigboring countries. Big british destination also. The good thing with corfu is that it doesn't have an "off" season. and i think it has direct flights from many places, not just Athens.

If your trip is in the Aegean, you can go to Santorini, Mykonos, Paros and a few other islands, flying to one of them and then taking the boat to "island-hop". Corfu is in a completely different area and i wouldnt do it in the same trip. Also, stay in Athens just for a day or two and spent your time in the islands...

Replying to your 2nd question -Corfu , you could head straight there all depending where you departing from ............ let me know i can help you on that, if you do it this way then your next stop would be Athens, then off to the island of Santorini i would say is a definitely a honeymooners must and then i would personally drag i little further and go to the Aegean islands like Rhodes in that way you will have seen an island of the Ioanian Sea , A Cyclad island and an Aegean island in one go and not to mention that here again all depending where you coming from there are direct flights out of Rhodes.
Weather wise and price wise and less noisy wise ............... September is beautiful.
Drop me a line and i can help you plan if you like.
