hi id like to go away at the start of year .. jan 2012 to go travelling for a year as i think its too short notice to go anytime soon , id like to go to australia prefferably or somewhere that has alot to offer though not too expensive .. id like to firstly find someone to come with me so i can share my exciting journey with someone and have someone there to keep me right when im wrong or incase i get lost lol :P

Well for what its worth, I have just got back from 18 months travelling. I have to say Australia is incredibly expensive!! And in my opinion doesn't have as much to offer as the other countries nearby that I also visited - ie New Zealand is fantastic, Fiji was like paradise and the whole of South East Asia was great. It depends what you are looking for I guess, if you want beaches and good weather than Oz is fine, if you are looking for cultural experiences, scenery and history then I would look elsewhere.
Oh and no matter where you go, you won't have problems meeting people!
Hey also looking to get out in january of 2012. i was also very interested in oz, well after s.e asia but many of of my friends have also said its nothing compared to alot of places. Ah well cant form a judgement without finding out for myself so would still like to go just maybe not as long as first intended. How much money is generally advised for a year trip around asia and n.z and aus etc,i meen is work easy or hard to come by etc how much would be required to not have to work lol im not known for bein the most organised of plp and this will be first time travelling and on my own if dont meet anyone first as all friends now have been done this n settled down etc now
Any advice from anyone is appreciated
