Transferring money from where?

I'm going to assume tranferring from the UK.... we brought over enough cash to see us through a week or so and paid in a nominal sum into our newly opening bank account (don't pay everything in as you have to wait a bit for your cards to come through the post). Before we left the UK I set up an account with UKForex and as soon as I had my aussie bank account numbers I was able to transfer the cash from my UK account into my australian one for a nominal fee of £7 and it was transferred over in 2 days. Don't go through the banks to do it, you'll be hit with a charge from your UK account and one from your Australian account!
I've found them to be super helpful and always reply to emails and phone you straight away to confirm the transaction.
