Have you considered the Peace Corps? I don't know if they make you pay do they?

Its always nice to hear that someone wants to volunteer. I wish that you could also post about the skills or the experience that you have gained, there should always be an opportunity somewhere for anybody to volunteer. Also I'd like to know your budget range to stay in Africa so that I can correspond with some of the possibilities here,in Tanzania or even in East Africa. I know several volunteer groups that may wish to share an experience with you.

It is wonderful that you would like to see the world and volunteer at the same time. I am not sure if you are looking for humanitarian volunteering programs, sport or wildlife but you might want to try these companies in South Africa who all offer volunteer programs.

There is also a company called Volunteer Vacations in South Africa who offer sport volunteering programs.

Hi Julie - I checked out Peace Corp and they are looking for volunteers that hold a degree. Unfortunately I am out of luck there! None the less they look like a great organisation, thanks for the tip.
Hi Maasi - I currently work as a bureau supervisor for a large card production company in New Zealand. My job entails meeting production schedules SLA's and maintaining WIP reports for our various customers. I also manage staff over 3 shifts. People are definitely the hardest and the most rewarding part of my job.
Financial I can survive in Africa for at least 1 year. As I mentioned I don't expect to be paid and understandably there may be some admin costs that may need to be covered. But I am uncomfortable with paying vast amounts just help out. I can't pay the thousands that some "volunteer" groups are expecting.
Hi Celeste - I am open to helping anywhere and I love animals, so thanks for the tips. I will check them out and let you know.
