loose weight and travel?

Hi i have some time off work like 2 months and wanted to take this time to tone and loose weight. im 5'2 and 61 kilos. i really have to tone my legs and arms and want to reach 55 kilos. I was thinking about travelling, maybe joining a tour group for some adventure in the gold coast or peru but i dont know if this is a good idea for my priority aim which is to tone. I dont know if the constant food temptations will be bad and if the exercise will be enough for what the gold coast has to offer. Does any one have advice. Should i stay home and hit the gym? the fit vacations (spas) are way too expensive for me.

Exercise makes you hungry so you eat more.

If you want to lose weight, eat less (specifically nothing after 6pm), and take moderate exercise. If you starve yourself, your body will hang onto every pound it can, so smaller meals.

Peru has a lot more to offer than the Gold Coast and no "constant food temptations" so you can lose weight while walking about there. It will also take your mind off of food.

I find I loose weight when I travel. But I think it has a lot to do with the way I travel. I tend to focus my travels on doing outdoor activities - hiking, biking, swimming. When I'm visiting a city, I walk as much as I can, both for exercise and to save a bit of money. Without even noticing it, you can easily walk 10 kms a day just visiting museums and passing on taxis to get to your next site. I do eat a lot, as I love sampling local food, and I'm a sucker for a nice cold beer or two on holiday. But, when I spend most of my day walking around town, hiking in the mountains, or doing some kind of activity, I definitely burn more than I eat.
Peru would be a good choice. There's countless opportunities to get out into the mountains and do some hiking, and you can stay very active while still seeing all the amazing sites. As well, the food is pretty bland compared to other parts of the world, so you won't be as tempted to eat too much. If you go to Peru and make a conscious choice to be as active as possible, and limit how much food you eat, then you will most likely loose weight. Also, you can start your day in your hotel room with some simple exercises, like pushups, situps, squats with our packback which can help to tone you up without needing a gym.
