Goa in September, is it a good idea?!?

Our first stop on a RTW tour is India in mid september and we'll be staying in the country for a month before moving on. I would really love to visit Goa but as it is still Monsoon season I'm not sure whether it'll be worth going in our limited time. I've read widely different opinions on the matter, some saying that its dead, wet and not alot to do while other websites claim its a lovely time to visit as its peaceful, beautiful and alot cheaper to stay than peak season. Would really love some real advice from people who have visited Goa at that time of year. Thank you!

hey goa is nice then, yes it would be raining, thus most of the shacks and other places will be shut! but having said that also few good ones will be open,

its gonna be a whole lot cheaper than season time, less crowded!!

honestly if your going to experience goa and just chill and explore, its a good time to go visit,

just the hastle is if your travelling on bikes u need to also consider the rains, so a car will be the best option!!

hope that helps

I hope you like sharing your beach while in Goa.

Thank you for the advice! I love cows! Thanks for the link to the pictures, they really made me smile and definately want to go. If i can put up with the cold, persistant rain that I'm experiencing in england at the moment I'm sure I can manage Goa!

Goa is good all year round, even during the trains. It is the best place to be yourself on this side of the planet. So just go and chill. Enjoy the beaches, the food and yes even the rain. Don,t let that dampen your spirits.
