I want to book a round the world flight from UK to go Thailand and Australia....then LA!! I want to perhaps end of 2012 preferably for Christmas time for 6 months !! Really am looking for a travel buddy as quite daunting so let me know if anyone has similar plans!! Even if it's just Thailand saves doing the whole first few weeks alone!!

Hi ya ! Yes it is, really daunting !! In not really sure, I don't want to plan too much I want to just take it as it comes, I want to be in Thailand for about a month though! I want to go to Bangkok but not for long as heard it isn't that nice I do wanna go there tho just to see, then want to go to pucket, ko samet, chiang mai, ko pha-ngan and a few others!! What about you?

Hi Lizzie when would are you planning to head out? I was planning to go to Aus first and travel up the East Coast to Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Barrier Reef and than I want to head to Thailand and travel around. I will be arriving in Sydney September the 15 is that a time you would do?

Your plans seem quite similar to mine, apart from I'm not sure how long I'll be in Thailand for. I'm hoping to be out travelling for 6 months (maybe longer) with similar savings as yourself before I need to find work because of money, ha! In this time, I'm hoping to visit Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam and then it's an open book! I've heard the same about Bangkok & that it's usually best to stay there for 4/5 days before moving on.
I have been told aswell that £5-6k for 6 months out in Thailand, Cambodia, etc is def more than enough! But, I'd like to have a bit extra with me so I don't really need to worry.
