I am in the exact same position as you. I'm 24 and graduated from uni last summer. Travelling has always been in the back of my mind and it has now got to the point where I am getting serious about it and I really want to go to Australia. Is it just Australia you want to go or other places? I am hoping to save enough money by the end of this year/beginning of next year to go (although I don't really know how much money is enough money). I also have never really travelled before so haven't got a clue how to start planning.

Im also planning a trip to oz feb/march time for next year im 26 and bored of my job so jumping on a plane (not sure to which part yet) and seeing the sites. Im also not sure how much to save up emily, my plan is aorund £3000/aud4700 just for back up money then maybe get a job to boost funds to do lots of fun stuff while im there scuba dive, travel east coast etc.
I know i should be worried about traveling alone but the more i talk to people who have done it the more assured n excited i am to do it !

I'm 22 and in a similar situation. I'm also thinking of going out traveling to Australia possibly towards the end of this year.
My brother and his girlfriend came back from there last July and had an amazing experience and I want to do it too, only none of my friends are in the situation to go!
Ideally I'd like to spend Christmas/New Year in Sydney as from what they've told me it was amazing and would have to be part of the trip. They will also come in handy for giving plenty of first hand advice!
I'm currently working full time/temp in an office til August-ish so after that I should have enough funds and no ties that would mean I could go whenever, but I'm a bit too nervous to go alone and would love getting to know some people who want to head out there too

Hi I'm Sara and have come to the point in life when all of my commitments are coming to an end and if I don't travel now I never will!
Am hoping to go out September/October 2012 and could really use a travel buddy.
Would like to start by heading to maybe Vietnam for a couple of weeks, then down to Oz to work/travel for maybe 3 or so months then NZ to do the same.

Grrr I'm definitely not jealous you're heading out there sooner than me sara...I am! I'm planning on doing the same thing but next year. Keep looking at ultimateOz and wishing I could go now !

Went travelling down the East coast for 3 months last year and I absolutley loved it!! Im chatting to a guy on here too who is planning on being in Sydney over xmas and NYE.

I was looking at flights at the weekend......was thinking maybe 10th Dec. What about you?
The flight was pretty good. Not a lot of waiting about in airports and great price too
You had a chance to look at flights yet? Im hoping a few people on here who are travelling alone will be up for meeting up in Sydney so we all feel a bit better about going!
