Hi Dexter, I've been living here with my girlfriend for the past two years (we are just about to head back home to Australia).
We've done quite a few city escape weekends away (in the UK - Dublin, Edinburgh) flying with a low cost carrier - we signed up to easyjet and just watched for good specials. Most of the other weekends we have either hired a car or a van - we've used wicked campers recently for short weekend trips like going to Cornwall, Brighton and Snowdonia (Wales) - awesome value especially if you get their winter specials. Other nice countryside is the Lakes District and the Cotswolds!

Thank you most helpful, I signed up to the MissCittyKitty Club or my girlfriend did as she's currently visiting and easy jet as you recommend and just got a great deal for a country house hotel with the kitty club. Been checking reviews for the hotel and pretty awesome so looking forward to it
