Bariloche to Santiago

lisamw has indicated that this thread is about Argentina

Hello Lisamw,

Thanks for your post...
The quickest way from Bariloche to Santiago de Chile I think it's by plane.
Check this airline, which is Chilean and works in Argentina for availability
and if they do that journey...
www.lan.com
But according to my knowledge you have to fly thru Buenos Aires for
Bariloche does not have an international airport...

Hope I've been of help.
Warm regards from BA Bob Frassinetti

The quickest way would be deffinetly by plane, but i have no information about fligths between Bariloche and Santiago or any other Chilean City.
by bus you should take a bus from Bariloche to Osorno and then other during Friday Night to Santiago.
some of the alternatives are www.turbus.cl
or Buses Cidher (better and cheaper than the other, but have few alternatives). the arrival of the night buses are between 7:00 to 10:00 so i guess you would have enough time to get to the airport.
The only problem would be the schedule of the bus from Bariloche to Osorno.

Hope this information is useful

Yesterday I´ve been seeking for information and I found that it´s not possible to go on skying during the day, and get to santiago de chile before 2 pm the next day by BUS. The bus takes 20 hs aproximately to get to santiago (through mendoza).
So the only option, as the other people say is to travel by plane. For more information you can look at www.andesmar.com.ar
Bariloche-Mendoza 17 hs
Mendoza-Santiago 3 hs aprox.
----------------------------------
Total 20 hs

Good luck and do not hesitate to ask what you want.

www.despegar.com is another great site.

you would spend less hours in a bus if you go to santiago threw Osorno.

Bariloche- Osorno 4 hours or so.
Then Osorno- Santiago about 11 hours and lots of alternatives.

We're looking at spending a month or so in Chile/Argentina.

We are considering travelling overland from Santiago to Bariloche and then down to El Calafate before heading up to Puerto Madryn/Trelew and then on to Buenos Aires.

Is it worth going to Bariloche? Or should we head straight to El Calafate?

Bariloche is a wonderfully beautiful place. I would defo head there even if it's for a few days.

I stayed a few km's out of the town itself beside the Cerro Campanario which is well worth climbing for the views. It's not big by the way. There is a chairlift you can get too.

The Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi is stunning. Our hostel was close by so trekking round here was easy for us.

The smaller rustic cabin hostels were amazing. Friendly people and a great nights sleep in peace and quiet.

The town itself has some good bars and restaurants (esp the mexican and the fondu places). The ice cream and chocolate are to die for too.

Students hit here during holidays so might be worth checking out. I was there early Jan and the weather was perfect.

Oh, and the local beer (El Bolson) is as good as it gets in Argentina.

Does anyone know if its easy enough and how long it might take to get from either puerto montt or puerto varas to bariloche? I assume as its 4 hours from bariloche to osorno it'll be similar to this as they're similar distances but the road doesn't look great on the map....

Thanks

I did this journey but I don't recall 100%. For some reason 8 hours is stuck in my head. Border crossing dependant. I've spent 10 minutes and 4 hours at the Chile border before.
