Honeymoon in Oz 4 weeks over Christmas

amijones has indicated that this thread is about Australia

I think that one of the loveliest things to do in Sydney is to catch a ferry from Darling Harbour to Taronga Zoo. You will get to see all of the fantastic Sydney sights (the Bridge, Opera House etc), and you will visit one of the most stunning zoos in the World.

I did this with my partner on his first visit to Australia and he loved it, and so did I!

That would be a great thing to do - you enter the zoo via their cable car by the ferry stop, so if you look back when going up you get a view of the harbour as well (if you don't like cable cars due to fear of heights then you can take the bus up to the zoo entrance!). I would also recommend staying at a hotel in Darling Harbour area, as it's quite nice there and there are a number of restaurants to choose from.

One thing that I thought of whilst heading up the coast, is to take a whale/dolphin watching cruise. There are a number of different places in NSW that you can do this - best thing is to search online to work out where you might want to do it. Port Macquarie may be one place to look for this, or at least to stop there as there is a Koala Hospital located in the town you may be interested in.

As you're staying over the Christmas/new year period make sure you work out as soon as possible where you'll be staying, and book accommodation now!

Thanks for the advise. I like the ideas of the zoo and koala hospital, very interested in animals.

Any ideas of a good place along the east coast to spend Christmas?
