My husband and I have free air tickets to Toronto, Chicago, or Montreal. We cannot decide where to go. We basically love nature, but not shopping people. If we could choose anywhere we want to go, we would definitely go to the national parks like Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and such, or any place like the scenery of Wyoming.... Anyway, we don't have the options. I love arts, but my husband is ok with it. Thus, I guess that we are not going to try to find anything particular in arts.... Any attractions would be good for us, except shopping (window shopping for witty things or anything attracts people is good, but not the tourist place only sell T-shirts or apparel).
You could have a good time with any one of those choices as they all have basically the same big city offerings.
Montreal is a bit different as its predominantly French culture gives it a somewhat European flavor,

Considering that you like nature, Toronto is not too far from Niagara Falls on the CA/US border, and Toronto is certainly more interesting than Chicago.
