South African doing Europe

Hi guys,

I think you are trying to do too much over a short time period. You also have to allow for travelling time. Even if you go by plane, it's getting to the airport, waiting, the flight, getting your luggage at the other end and getting to your accommodation. A two hour flight can end up taking several hours or more.

Dublin, it depends on if you want to see anything else of Ireland. You could manage a few day trips.
3 days in London, you're just beginning to settle in.
Less than 2 days in Paris, you have hardly started.
Venice you can see the lot in a busy day.
4 days in Rome you can see a fair bit but if you want side trips to Pompeii, it will eat into your time.
A few days in Madrid you can see a fair bit but you need extra days for side trips.

Really, in Britain, France, Italy or Spain you could spend all your time and not see that much.

These destinations are busy all year around. In July, they are BUSY. You talk of hostels but say you have (expensive looking) accommodation. If you do not have accommodation already booked, you need to get something booked ASAP as even now many rooms are already gone.

Sightseeing on your schedule is going to be hectic. Decide what you want to see in each place and buy tickets online if possible to save endless queues. Also decide how you are going to travel, as there are some fair distances there and you don't have time to spend a good part of a day on a train or coach.

To be honest, I would settle for London and Rome and have some side trips. From London-Stansted you can get a Ryanair flight to Dublin and stay there overnight. Paris is a short hop away on the Eurostar train for an overnight stay. Plenty of days out from London as well as London itself.

Italy you could fly out to Venice, travel down to Florence, side trip to Pisa, down to Rome, maybe Naples and fly back from Rome.
