I am travelling with two friends to KL on the 22nd of November and wish to get to Koh Phangan by around the 19th of Dec
We are backpacking and are just wanting some info on good places for 21/22 y/o's to check out along the way
At the moment already have Penang, Langkawi, Krabi, Lanta, Phi Phi and Phuket on the list
Just wondering if anyone else has some places that would be good to visit along this path

melaka on the weekend for antique's market and gorgeous food if you can afford the time (it's going south of KL instead of north) - otherwise, penang is a great place for amazing food too
and if you want to escape the heat, then head towards cameron highlands on your way up north (3.5 hrs from KL), or for a weird experience of the only place where gambling is legal in malaysia, head towards genting highlands (45 mins from KL) - there's also lots of kitschy rides and you can catch a bus or taxi up and down very easily.
