In Amsterdam go to The Last Wateringhole. It used to be in the Red Light District but now it has moved to leitzeplein. It is a great venue and is just for rock and blues. Great musicians go there and anyone can go play there. Last time I went is was really good (mind you, that was when it was back in the RLD).
Cheers guys, I've added those to my list of places to see. I'll try and get in contact with them before I go to see what's on, and maybe I can talk to some people.

The Last waterhole has all changed and just aint the same anymore, since it changed location.
Real shame what's left of the old venue.. Just a piece of flat land and a few rotting bits of furniture scattered here and there.

That makes me sad I loved this venue
