when you want to Tibet ,first you should apply for Tibet travel permit.you should sent your Passport copy and China tourist visa
copy to your travel agency ,then they will snet the Tibet travel permit by post to your China hotel .You need to show your Tibet permit when checking in.In tibet foreign guest need a guid and a driver to be Travel Service .

i would recommend alternative routes (there are many!) if you like and can cope with very basic lodging, food and circumstances but you want to seek more adventure.
try to go as early as possible before it gets very cold up there.
bring good sunglasses, suncream (50), hat, warm/winter cloths and vitamin pills
