so im going to thailand and brining a camera (of course!lol )
but i was curious about how the plugs work, if i need to charge my camera, so i need to bring an adapter, or how do i go about charging it?

lol i re read that and realized i wasent really clear in what i was trying to say haha . i meant i need to get an adapter
so that i am able to charge my camera? because the plugs are different there... i just wasent sure if most ppl bring an adapter or an extra battery that is charged ....... etc..

More important thing is: Thailand uses 220-240V, while Canada 110-120V. However, most modern chargers can support both. Check on your charger(s) what voltage range it can support.
In Thailand the plugs are not always universal, however most plugs can support both: american flat pins and the european round ones too.
So, it can easily happen that you don't need to buy one.
In any case, if you don't want to buy an adapter now and you still have difficulties with the plugs in thailand, you can buy adapters for the fraction of the price. Chinatown in Bangkok is a particularly good place to buy such thing. If it is a simple adapter, you may just pay 10 or 20 cents...

Adapters are great but if your camera uses rechargable batteries (lithium, etc) I'd suggest getting an extra one as well, especially if you'll be moving around a lot. Depending on your camera, you can find one for as little as $10.
I know that backpacking for two months, an extra battery saved me from a lot of photo-less days, because sometimes it can be difficult to find a plug in where you can leave your camera/battery just sitting there for a few hours.
Most hotels let you borrow adapters, and some will already have them in the room, but if you do want to buy, I agree that you should wait till you land in Thailand.
Every time I go to Vietnam, I come home with a virus on my memory card - no biggie, easy enough to remove it. Few computers in SE Asia have virus protection installed, and even if they do have protection, they are rarely updated on a regular basis.
