Island Hopping in Greece

Hey All!

In answer to your first question, I'd recommend at least a couple of days for Athens, as there is lots to see there. I visited Corinth, on the mainland (about 2 hours by train from Athens) and I'd highly recommend it. The best part is the "Acrocorinth", the fortress on the hilltop. Don't be daunted by the long, hot walk up to the top. The views are spectacular, and the whole hilltop is a giant archaeological site.

As for island hopping, I've only been to Heraklion, on Crete. I didn't book ahead, but I had no problem getting a ticket. Although that was in the winter; it might be harder in the summer. I'd highly recommend Crete- you could spend your whole week there and not be bored.

Have fun!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I spoke with my friend and we both agreed that Corinth sounds amazing. Thank you for the pointer -- we never would have known to go otherwise!

Yer welcome! Have a great trip!
