Hey does anyone have any advice, i lost my purse yesterday and it had my bankn cards in it in bangkok and now i have no pennies< ive tried to contact the card people but cant. OHhh bugger. x
I would just keep calling the bank to make sure you get those cards blocked.... then look at having family transfer emergency funds afterwards.

The postal service in Thailand is really good. I lost my card and had my mum send it from the UK up to Chiang Mai - arrived in about 10 days!
Don't use a purse! Always make a list of emergency phone numbers - my banks will accept collect calls from their customers overseas. If all else fails, go to your embassy in Bangkok for help.

Trying to phone someone from Bangkok is generally a waste of time. It took me two and a half hours once using a hotel phone to contact my UK card company.
Use internet to contact your family or a friend who can contact them, who can then contact your bank. Of course stop your cards.
Or the UK embassy which is open mornings, on 14, Wireless Road (Thanon Witthayu, 5 mins walk from the Phloen Chit BTS station). They will not give you money but they will contact your family, bank or whatever.
With the UK seven hours behind, if you can contact them today it should be easy to get money transferred to a nearby bank or whatever. You'll see signs of transfer companies on them.
The same thing happened to me in Perth, I lost everything and only had $8 on me...not the best situation. Keep contacting the bank to ensure you don't lose money to fraud (And cancel the cards), get a transfer from family/friends through western union (I'm sure they have many safe places to do that) and try and get the card to go to your home address and then have them transfer it over to somewhere safe to mail it to you.
