Has anyone ever been to Austin Texas? How was your trip there? Whats the hot spots? I might spend a weekend out there.
I live in Houston and love visiting Austin. It's such a young, unique city and there's plenty to do there. Depending on what you like and how old you are - here's info on the going out scene:
Austin is famous for 6th Street - a row of bars and clubs that is frequented by mostly the college students or recent grads in the area. For a late 20s, 30s crowd, I'd suggest 4th Street. There is also this area of houses that was converted to little bars that I like going to - it's called Rainey St (one of the bars is called Lustre Pearl). Also, for restaurants, def check out the margaritas and food at Trudy's. If you like scenery, check out Lake Travis and a restaurant called Oasis (food is ok but the view is pretty if you're outside).

Go to St Antonio when you get Austin , the beef burger is the best best I ever had in my whole 40 years !!!!!!!!!!!!! There are no reasons for me to go back Texas but I missed the beef all the time. Jack
