corfu is a really nice place to visit. specially corfu town and surrounding villages. you can also get a day trip to albania there. altho albania is different but different isnt always good

But I think I will visit Corfou some other time, because it is located on the Ioannian Sea which is quite far from all the other islands I intend to visit. I've heard that Albania is a fantastic country to visit with a very unique culture and friendly people. It's a pity I won't have enough time to include these two places this time.

I spent time this year on Chios. This is very close to Turkey and is very non touristy. No package tourists at all. Not one. It is quite large (5th largest island) and you need a car to get around if you wish to explore for a couple of days. It is very historic, mountainous, friendly, good food and cafes etc on the waterfront. There are ferries from Chios to Thessaloniki via Lesbos but it the chaotic ferry schedules do not help things.

Thank you Glynn for your suggestion. About the ferries from Chios to Thessaloniki, could you give me some more info? How many times do they run a week? And do you know if the only stop on the way is Lesbos or if it stops at some other islands before reaching Thessaloniki? I know how chaotic can the transportation system be in Greece and i'm aware it changes from one year to the other, but it could help if you tell me more about your experience and the route you've taken

If you go to Rhodes you must take a trip to Lindos. You can hire a car to get there or go by boat. I think the car trip's about 40 minutes. Stunning place.
Just on that, Rhodes is a pretty big island with quite a large 'main town'. Depending on where you stay, it can feel a bit far removed from a typical island experience.

I had to change my planes and I'll be flying to Kos instead of Rhodes, but I haven't excluded the possibility of visiting Rhodes anyway! I'll certainly check Lindos if i have the chance.
And where is Mykonos? We loved it!!!
