Too much flying on a short holiday! You are all over the place! Lots of one way flights too!
Two weeks alone only in Thailand is not long enough for some tourists! If you are more interested in accruing frequent flyer miles and stamps in your passport your schedule will do that. But if you are actually interested in seeing some of the places and maybe actually relax a little - modify your wish list.
Suggestion - JFK to Bangkok. In Thailand visit Bangkok, a beach area like Phuket, include Northern Thailand with a few days in Chiang Mai. Possibly visit Cambodia (Siem Reap/Angkor Wat) for a few days for a change. Flying into Bangkok round trip from JFK and flying back home from Bangkok will be cheaper than one way flights. Local round trip flights between Bangkok and nearby countries is very reasonably priced. You can even fly to Hong Kong from Bangkok if you want.
Unless you have a lot of money to spend compare the cost of one way flying vs round trip. Some airlines charge the same for one way as round trip! Do the math unless prices do not matter.
For Asia you are flying during the most expensive time of the year. Hotels and plane rides are higher priced than other times of the year.
Are you planning this holiday for this December or next year? If it is next month you gotta get hot on booking plane rides for the dates you need. Since money appears to not matter you could add more time to Asia and include a couple more countries in that area.
Good luck.
Sounds like a great trip. I might suggest avoiding the Thailand part now. 2 months of flooding has turned Bangkok and surrounding areas into a disease ridden cesspool. Picture 10 million people's daily garbage and human waste floating in the streets for two months, in The 95-100 degree heat. Add the thousands of animals that have escaped from tourist attractions, such as deadly green mambas, king cobras, and crocodiles. Now think about the primordial diseases growing in the fetid waters which still fill most of Bangkok's streets. This is Thailand now, and how it shall remain for a great deal of time to come. Stay safe, avoid it here.
Don't worry about what anordinaryjo is writing. Sounds like he has a personal problem with Thailand! All of his posts say the same thing. He has no real comments other than to complain!
Since the flooding problems began 2 months ago probably a million tourists have come and gone. If they were dying off because of disease or cobra bites that would be on the front page of newspapers all over the world. The flooding was in Bangkok affects part of Bangkok not the entire city! Flooding occurs every year here and there in Thailand - that's normal!
Suvbarnabhumi Airport is open and looks like it will remain open for some time to come. No problem with transportation to other cities in Thailand. Rail service from the airport to the city still in operation. December should be even better than today!
You must be an airline employee or just plain rich?
I guess you have big plans of spending money for the year...
