Best beaches in Miami?

Hi,
Planning for a 5-6 day vacation in Miami with my girlfriend around 1 of May, looking for romance, beautiful ocean view, clean beaches, and some fun...
Thanks for your help...

Parts of Miami are not that safe. I liked the beaches of Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale and South Beach (Miami Beach) are the main beaches. Boca Raton is also okay. Some of the best beaches in Florida are outside of Miami--there is Key West, Daytona Beach, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, and Clearwater. These are all long drives from Miami, however. I agree with the previous poster and recommend Fort Lauderdale as your best choice.

DONT GO TO DAYTONA..that beach sucks and is salty as sh**. And Key west doesnt have beaches. Its all coast. The beaches are manmade enough said. Go to sunny isles beach and deerfield beach

Not to forget the lovely south beach. Beware of parking as it is impossible to find!

I wonder which beaches you think are not salty!?

Key West does have at least one good beach, at Fort Zachary Taylor. Back in the day we use to swim from South Beach to Zachary Taylor to avoid paying the 50c entrance for a national park, but well worth it. Its a great beach, more so because not many people know about it.

You don't have to drive all the way to Key West though. There are plenty of great spots on the way down through the keys. Islamorada and Key Largo are just two, only an hour or two down state hwy 1

Miami is an nice place to do fun and enjoy with friends there are many type of beaches to do fun
