has anyone used an LAN airpass when travelling in south america? attempting to figure out the cheapest and easiest way to get from Argentina/Brazil to Cuzco, Peru.... any tips appreciated.
Flights are expensive in South America and best booked as early as possible.
It might just be me but I thought Peru has as much to see as the rest of SA. Don't miss out Lima which has a number of good museums, etc.
I did the 5 hour train ride from Cuzco so I was at MP just after midday. A bus goes up the mountain. If you take the train, take a book as it's boring. A number of good day trips are available from local travel agents in Cuzco, and it's worth a good walk around town.
While in Santiago, take a bus to Valparaiso. It's an hour away and a cheap day out. Do use the subways for getting around. A bus from the airport takes you to one of the stations.
