Female Backpack

Hello

Hi

Exactly the same and i found it so hard! also going the same places so understand why the worry, but i can honestly say it might be girly way out but i have a 90lt (which is for me and my Boyfriend as sharing) bag but its has wheels - easier in airports i find - aswell as backpack straps.

http://www.johnlewis.com/231430871/Product.aspx - something like this!!!!

I made sure it fitted both of our backs comfortably as would be a nightmare .

Hope this helps and you have a great trip!

90lt is enormous and I personally would advise against going for wheels as it adds extra bulk and weight.

No matter how big your backpack is you will always, ALWAYS fill it, and a full 90lt pack is going to be unbearably heavy.

I went round the world in 2010 (SE Asia, Oz, NZ, South America) for 6 months with a 65lt pack and even at that size there were times when it was really heavy and I wanted to cry. I can't emphasise enough how miserable it is when you're knackered and/or hungover and having to carry a heavy backpack for miles because you can't find somewhere to stay, you've missed your bus etc. Less is always more!

I would recommend going no bigger that 65lt at the most and being incredibly strict with yourself about what you're packing - whatever you need, if you haven't bought it you'll be able to buy it along the way. I had a day bag too which I think was about 15lt.

Most of all, make sure your pack fits you properly. I didn't do this but was lucky that the £50 Karrimor pack I got from Go Outdoors fitted me perfectly. I'd recommend going somewhere that'll fit you for a pack.

This is just based on my personal experience! If you have the proper backpack it'll become your very best friend.

Good luck!

Me and my friend bought 40 litre airbag from Karrimor. More than 50 litres are too much to carry. We're the same height as you are and weight 54-58 kg. I used to have 65 litres and that was too much.. And when you have alot of space you tend to pack more than you really need.

Here are reasons why you should just take a 40 litre bag
