Me and my boyfriend have a WHV and want to go Oz in June'12 (we have to be back by May'13 for my best friends wedding!) but dont know where to start.

i am doing the same with my girlfriend in august we are starting in cairns then our plan is to move down qld nsw vic and finish in perth quite a few month down the line
but there are so many routs to take i have alot of friends that have taken all sorts of routs and they all had a great time dont think there is a rite or wrong way ,
i also hear cairns weather is ok arounfd that time 25c

Elton is right, there isn't really a wrong or right way to do it. June in Sydney can still be quite nice, then make your way north as it gets colder. That whole east coast has the greatest population of Australia, so probably more chance of getting work there. Definitely save Melbourne for summer, as its miserable in winter but amazing in summer.

And don't forget that there will be a solar eclipse on Nov 14th, visible in Cairns.
