Where to go at what time (SL & SAE)

Hi folks,

I was in Sri Lanka in November - it was very warm (around +30C) but gray weather, and several times there were rains. When it's rainy - it's like a waterfall, sky fall on your head and you have nowhere escape. Also they have a "wet area" and "dry area" in Sri Lanka, so, depends not only season but where you wanna go.

Hi folks,

I am planning a trip to Sri Lanka and SEA from the end of august. The initial plan was to start of in SL, spend about 3-4 weeks there and then head off to Vietnam. Starting either south or north, then head to Cambodia/Laos depending on where my starting point will be. After these countries I will go to Bangkok. Time is not a big issue as of now, but as a guidance - 3-4 weeks in SL and maybe 2 months or so in SEA.

My concern is the weather conditions. Which place is best to go at what time? I am trying hard not to plan too much, but dont want to feel like I am missing out due to bad weather conditions. I can deal with some rain, but I dont feel the need to be constantly drenched

Any help and inputs appreciated

yes normally April is rain season but it`s raining these days so that means rain in April will be very less.I hope you will enjoy you`r vacation.sri lanka is a nice place to travel. Because there are lots of thing and places to watch in a small island,if you gone a start from Colombo u can travel to any direction in around two, three hours by a vehicle.

Major tourist attractions are focused around the islands famous beaches located in the southern and eastern parts of the country. Ancient heritage sites located in the interior of the country and lush green resorts located in the mountainous regions of the country. There are manyNational Parks you can visit in Sri Lanka. Yala is the largest national park.

you can do some google-ing work for more information. hope it helps have a nice trip~
