Hey
Hey folks. Any info people can give me would be great. Best places to see in 1 month both North and South, moving at a leisurely pace. theres 4 things on my must do list, i want to do some scuba diving so wheres the best place (or cheapest) to do this? open sea kayaking and ending with a wellness retreat somewhere. Has anyone been to a health spa retreat that they could recconmend??ive never been to one but willing to try it out! also i will be going to the full moon party on 6th April of course

Type: Scuba diving phuket

into a search engine and it will give you lots of sites. Water there is very warm and very clear and fish are so tame they take food from your hand.

Book some accommodation ASAP as it's the busy season. April is rather hot and sticky so I would pay extra and go for air conditioning.

Thailand is about as safe as anywhere in the world and it's people are normally very friendly. Some pick pocketing in Bangkok though.

Many thousands of tourists about at any time and most of the people you come into contact with will speak some English. There is even English newspapers and TV there.

If lonely, some people pick up a companion for a night, a week or longer from any of the many bars about. Check out Silom and Pat Pong while in Bangkok. A big night market starts around 8pm and goes on till about 1am.

At the airport, go down to the ground floor where the station is and get a train into Bangkok. Taxis are cheap and metered and you can get one to your accommodation. Buy a bus map (about 50 baht) which helps you get around. The Skytrain is easy to use and bypasses the heavy traffic there.

Bangkok is quite tame these days, and very westernised. Pop into one of the many semi air conditioned malls if you feel hot.

Cyberia ..

Cheers, really helpfull info, although i dont think il be picking anyone up for company around the bars

scuba diving definetly koh tao! best dive spot in whole of asia! bangkok will shock you, listen to the song "one night in bangkok" and that sums it up haha, but i must stress when you are in bangkok trust no one, thai women are only after one thing your $$.

Hi, a couple of other travellers and I are planning to meet up in bkk in april, you are welcome to join us if you want.

Bangkok is pretty good for tourists to get used to. From the airport (Suvarnabhumi) you have meter taxis available 24 hour a day. If you arrive during the day up to early evening you also have the Airport Rail Link (commuter rail) that can bring you into the Pratunam area of the city for only 45 baht. At the Phaya Thai station you can switch to the Skytrain. There are hotels you can walk to from this rail service.

At the airport there are bank money changers available 24 hours a day. Wait until you get to Thailand to get the best exchange rate.

When you need hotel help also say what your price range is. Since you are not a kid maybe choose a hotel in the Sukhumvit Road area. In this area you can walk to restaurants, nightlife, travel agencies for tours and plane tickets and be able to use the Skytrain rail service. There are hotels in all price ranges in the Nana area of Sukhumvit.

cheers Jamie and Karazyal for all the info, much appreciated. another dude in London recconmended Sukhumvgit road for accomodation so thats what ive booked. fosterp, cheers for the offer may well take you up on that.

Lee
