Hope to go to Mackinac Island in June travelling first from London to New York and then from New Your to Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Any ideas on the best way to do this?
Delta flies: LGA-PLN, ($450) R/T. Pellston is the closest airport to Mackinac Island. Shuttle to the ferry available at PLN. Ferry over to the island. A bit cheaper is flying: LGA-MBS, ($313). From Bay City, rent a car and drive up. Or rent a car in NYC and drive to Mackinac. 877 miles, 2 days of driving.
If you are alone, fly. If there are 2, I would consider driving it. 3 or more I would drive. Good luck.
