Thailand February 13

Hi - I'm traveling to Bangkok on February 13th solo, and looking to meet up with other backpackers traveling there too, my plan is to stay the night and make my way down to Phucket the next day. It would be cool to meet up with someone as its my first time in Thailand

hey if you head down to the islands i'll be around till march so would be great to meet up for a beer.. my advice is stay maybe 2 nights in BKK as the jet lag takes alot of getting used to/ orientating yourself.. i thought it would be a good idea to go straight out the night i got there and it was a fun night but it completely fucked my body up! so take care and see you round

Im gonna be in Thailand throughout the whole of February! Where do you recommend the best hostel to stay in Bangkok is? Heard its pretty rough!

I'd suggest you try and find an upmarket hotel while you stay in Bangkok , Asiarooms.com is the best site to look at.. enjoy your stay in Thailand

Have a look at NapPark Hostel, in Bangkok, if you wanna do it cheap - it has a lot of good ratings from people who have stayed there and apparently it's a really good hub to find people to travel around with. Check it out.

Ah that's brilliant, thank you very much! What's the best way to travel around Thailand? I have to be in chaing Mai 3 days after I arrive in Bangkok. What's the best/cheapest way of getting around? X

No problemo. I'd say the most efficient cost-time way to travel is to do the sleeper train directly to Chiang Mai. It's costs between £12 and £18 depending on what class you go in and you save on a night's accommodation because of it. If you're traveling around North Thailand then buses are probably your best bet, whereas to South Thailand (from North) it can be cheaper to fly there in some cases.
