Hi..I'm Vicki.. Decided to take the plunge and go travelling..solo..scary !! Am planning on going to Thailand for a month beginning of dec, then oz for a month after that. Can't quite believe I'm doing this.. Am someone who enjoys their creature comforts to say the least but am so up for a new challenge and something that will really take me out of my comfort zone!! Been playing safe for too long!! So if anyone is planning on travelling the same time as me please get in touch..feel like a fish out of water with all this!! Any advice/suggestions all welcome and if anyone would like to buddy up let me know!! X
Hi Vicki! I'll be in Phuket in Dec, also solo for 2 weeks, leaving end Dec. I will start a trip from Malaysia in mid of Dec, plan is to be in Malaysia for few days and then to Phuket, Kata beach most likely. I would not mind a buddy

In a similar boat, going too set of solo as it stands....scary but exciting. I got a friends wedding January 4th 2013, so looking getting away after that
I plan on heading for thailand and then Aus, n!!!othing booked yet though.
Have you made any plans? Booked any flights or accomodation e.t.c. yet?

Hi krisse! I may well be in Phuket the same time as you! I'll be heading down that way probably second week in December! I'm spending Christmas on koh phangan then heading to Singapore for new year..are you planning on spending christmas on Kata beach? Would be lovely to meet up over a couple of beers if we're there at a similar time!
Hi mark..yes all booked and set to go! I fly out beg of dec to Thailand then off to oz beginning of jan..can't come soon enough! I've only booked my first few nights accommodation in Bangkok when I get there and have booked accommodation for Christmas as I was advised to as it being really busy at that time of year..apart from that I'm just going to go with the flow..you should get those flights booked..then the rest should just fall into place well..that's what I'm hoping will happen!

Hei Vicki! Yes, I'll be heading to Kata beach. I think I will arrive around 15th of Dec and 29th I will need to be back in Singapore to catch my flight back home. Don't know yet if I will go to Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia as well or directly from Phuket to Singapore. This koh phangan is quite far from Phuket, are you planning to travel around in Thailand (besides Bangkok)? Take care!
Over a hundred thousand Brits will head for Thailand in December so it's a busy time there. Book some accommodation beforehand. hostelbookers, asiarooms and the like.
You get 30 days visa free on arrival, which includes day or arrival and day leaving.
You could travel around, say Bangkok to Chiang Mai to a beach location before going back to Bangkok for your flight out.
Travel in Thailand by bus, train or plane. AirAsia is cheap and can be booked online. You could even pop over to Hong Kong for a short break. Taxis are cheap and metered. Don't use tuk-tuks.

Hi guys, Im flying to Thailand from Dublin the end of Nov, I plan on staying for four weeks.! I'll be staying in Bangkok for a couple of nights and then head up to Chang Mai... Im planning then on heading to some of the islands after that .. Be great to meet up with fellow travelers along the way
