As far as I know most flights from Singapore into Fiji will go via Australia or New Zealand and are likely to be expensive. £300 from Singapore to Auckland sounds like a pretty good deal; if I were you I'd go for that and then book a separate trip to Fiji from NZ at a later date, assuming you are planning to spend quite a bit of time in NZ. Fiji and the rest of the Pacific Islands are very accessible from Auckland, and you'll see specials on flights and holiday packages advertised all the time. Also £200 one way from Fiji to Auckland isn't particularly cheap - you should be able to get a return from Auckland to Fiij (and other Pacific Islands) for $450 - $600. I'd also recommend Rarotonga (Cook Islands) - I preferred it to Fiji. Samoa is also lovely.
I believe Air Pacific flies from Tokyo to Nadi, but as bex writes, the only other service would be via Australia or maybe PNG. Check out this site -
