Hello all:
Personally, I would choose the train. I found ONCF to be decent train service and you don't have to deal with any of the usual airport hassle, not to mention the trains are more frequent and you can choose one at a time that suits you (unless you like midnight flights, of course).
Here is a list of the scheduled trains from Casa Voyageur to Tangier from 5am on July 18 http://www.oncf.ma/Fr/horraires.aspx?ep=2&elt=26&CodeRD=0093&CodeGD=00200&CodeRA=0093&CodeGA=00303&heure=0300&date=18/07/2012.
Casa Voyageur and Casa Port are different stations. From my understanding, Voyageur is the main station for cross country travel.
Thank you, Kellie. Is it true that I can't book the train until I get to Morocco? Do you think there'll be a problem with that?

Yes, that's right.
I had an early morning train from Marrakech so I bought my ticket at the station the day before and it was all smooth sailing on the day You shouldn't have a problem with doing the same for your trip. Enjoy!
