Hi all: I am booked on the Trans-Siberian Train from Beijing to Moscow in June this year. Due to time and other limitations we need to take the Trans Manchurain route. I am travelling with my 16 y.o. son. We have initially booked a 2 person kupe, but are wondering if we are making a bad decision. Would a 4 person Kupe be better? I understand the passenger profile on the Manchurian route is different. We are looking forward to meeting people (Russian, Chinese, international) , not just being stuck in the cabin, but the ability to get some privacy is nice too. Anyone with experience on this train able to comment on the best choice of compartments? Any other advice for this train?
2 person kupe is definitely better than 4 and more private. You will get acquainted with people on the road anyway - in a restaurant or in the corridor, or during the stops. Don't worry. Do you plan to stay in Moscow, too?
