So how did it go?

Lots of people asking for advice but few people giving recaps on how it went and how relevant the advice was..

Well, I asked for some advice on times square on new years eve and no one responded, but I'll fill you in on the adventure anyway...

First off I should tell you that nothing good ever happens to me or my friends when we go to NY or NJ. On to the story....

Me and a friend took the train from philly, it only took an hour and a half (normal time). We got to times square around 2pm, they were letting people into the section around the main stage. So naturally we just squeezed in until we were told we had to go further back because we had backpacks (full of booze). so we ended up right in the middle of times square, stood in one spot for 10 hours and made friends for the night with a few people from indiana, michigan and holland.

anyhow we drank, and we drank and we drank. I should also note that I ate around 2pm when we arrived in NY but nothing for the rest of the day. We waited all day for green day and Jay-z, but neither of them showed up. Instead we were treated to two identical performances by jennifer lopez....uuuughck.

after the big countdown we hung around for a bit and drank some more with our new friends. At 1:30am we went to the train station, got in and out of the bathroom and onto the train with in 5 minutes! Record time.

I could not believe it, we were on track to be back home by 3am.

My stomach had other plans and it let me know on the train ride home. So we get off the train a few stops early in jersey, I do what I have to do. In the process I drop and break my camera (an SLR)!! then we sit and wait for the next train....and we wait....and we wait

finally an hour and a half passes by and what do you know. the train that we left was the last one that would stop at that stop for the ENTIRE DAY.

we had to take a cab ($50) to the next stop to get back on the train.

I got home at 7:30am, that marks the fourth time in a row that it has taken me 6+ hours to get back home from NY

Overall I'm glad I did it once, but I will never do it again. and unless I really have to, I am not going to NY anytime soon.

P.S. Yankees suck!
