in and out of bangkok

im looking to change my flights today/tomorow,just wondered,if i fly into bangkok then leave strate away to visit vietnam, laos etc,can i re-enter bangkok 10 weeks late to get my flight to OZ,thanks

Suvarnabhumi has a transit lounge. You may be able to go straight to the transit lounge and catch your outgoing flight without ever 'entering' Thailand. Ask airport personnel if your airline has a desk in the transit lounge. If so, problem solved.

If that doesn't work, go through Immigration and accept the free 30 day entry waiver. Go out of the airport and walk back in. Catch your flight. You will be given another 30 day entry waiver when you fly back in to Thailand to catch your flight to OZ.

Thanks for the reply so quick! I don't really understand the the first bit,and with the second part,do you mean, when I first land in bangkok, accept the 30 day waver, then go out the airport and back in giving me another 30 days, thanks agen for the help

Hey Razzaefc,

Basically anyone who is a UK citizen or has a UK passport is entitled to a free 30 day tourist visa. Therefore you can transit the airport without worry whether you leave the airport or not.

Regards
Tim

Cheers for the reply tim,I will be arriving in bangkok on the 2nd of october, but ill be leaving at some point to travel elsewhere but will need to get back into thailand to get my flight from from bangkok to australia, but it will be after the 30 days since I got my original tourist visa, basically it will have run out when I want to return.will they allow me back in? Sorry about all the questions, appreciate your time replying

I don't know your name since it is not listed, will go with 'razzaefc'. Your first post states: "I fly into Bangkok then leave 'strate' (straight) away to visit VN, Laos". Leaving straight away means you never leave the airport. This is where the transit lounge comes in.

You will get a free 30 day entry permit when you arrive at Suvarnabhumi. This allows you 30 days to tour Thailand, then you have to leave. You will get another free 30 days when you fly back into BKK for your flight to OZ. If you cross a land border: say from Cambodia to Thailand, you will get a free 15 day entry permit. Again, you must leave before your 15 days are up. Good luck with your planning.
