Background: I am a US citizen pursuing a graduate degree in Global Entrepreneurship starting this fall. The first semester is in Barcelona and runs from September 6 to December 17. I plan to arrive Augsut 25 in Spain to get my bearings and do a little traveling. Second semester is in Taipei and begins January 8 and runs through April 29. The final semester begins in San Francisco on May 19. I will be traveling to Paris and Shanghai with school while in the respective regions. Also, while in Spain, classes run Monday-Thursday and, in Taiwan, I will have two weeks off for the Chinese New Year.
How long is your Christmas break? If you are a really ambitious traveller, and have the money, you could go overland from Spain by train through Europe, then take the Trans-Siberian train across Russia to China, then south to Hong Kong, where you could catch a short flight to Taipei. You could do it in 3 weeks, if you REALLY rushed it. Although I'd recommend 6 weeks or longer. And you'd see a whole lot of Europe and Asia.
