I found Uganda Rural Fund on a search for volunteer opportunities in Africa. Does anyone have any knowledge of this outfit? Any opinions? Their prices seem reasonable and I like what I'm reading on their website, but always looking for first hand experience!
i know that there are lots of various voluntourism programs in South Africa that i've heard of...and met people who have done them. There is a shark program out of Gans Baai, outside of cape town, where you help with research. kwazulu parks runs an elephant program out of tembe elephant park, there's a vervet monkey program outside of the kruger, a lion project outside of Port Elizabeth. Did you want to do something with animals/conservation or people/communities?
