Brazil is a great place and all i can do is envy you.
I would go in the carnival time. That is the time i was there. The carnival takes place not only in Rio. It is all over Brazil and is really amazing. You should be aware that prices boom up in the carnival time, but it is worth it. Loads of tourists and loads of fun.
