im a US citizen currently in argentina and wanting to go to peru (skipping bolivia because of recent travel issues with the strikes). my question is - the flights im looking at all have layovers in bolivia, and as a US citizen, i have to pay $135 to enter bolivia- is this still the case for a layover? do i have to go through customs in sucre or la paz, where i would have a layover in each? if i have to pay anyway, even for a layover, it seems like it might be worth it to just stay in bolivia for a while anyway, even if i cant get down south to uyuni....advice and first hand knowledge is appreciated!
As far as I know you don't have to pay the fee if you have the boarding pass for your next flight and the layover is less than 12 hours.
