OWLE Bubo for the iPhone...worth it?

Hi folks,

If you're worried about optics and weight then there's no point in buying it. Why pay good money to downgrade? This product weighs in at over half a kilo and seems a compromise at best. Your Canon point and shoot is almost certainly better in both respects and you already own it. Just my thoughts.

I'm with fabyomama; if weight is one of your concerns, why even consider this? It might make sense if you are thinking of shooting a lot of videos, but for photos I really don't see the point...

Ugh...you're both right. I would mostly take photos anyways, not video.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks again for the tips folks, I think I'm going to go with a real DSLR, and just accept the extra weight as the cost of better memories and photographs.

Cheers!

There's rarely a right answer in these things - weight, security, purpose of the picture. I also suggest decent insurance for peace of mind and to keep your memory cards separate from the equipment - preferably on you at all times, not in a bag. Anyway, good luck with it all. Hope all goes well.

Actually Fabyomama, that brings me to another question...

Regarding memory cards, what are some good 'tech specs' to look for (aside from storage capacity)? I've heard something about transfer rates for cards to and from computers -etc, and different companies having better reliability against data corruption?

Any good advice in this area?

JP
