Hi I'm travelling to NZ nov 2011 alone for 4wks before meeting up with some friends in aus!
I'm 24 female from London
£1000 is about NZD $2050, or about $68/day. That's a decent budget for New Zealand (allowing you to stay in small dorm rooms in good quality hostels, bussing on to a next destination twice a week, and eating supermarket food), but it doesn't give you a whole lot of room to do anything special, and I expect that even with careful budgetting, you'll end up having to live quite frugally during the last week of that month if you really want to stick to that budget.
It's certainly doable, but a but more money wouldn't be amiss.
I could push my budget to £1300 a month for NZ do you think that would be more reasonable with regards to doing trips? And eating out once or twice a wk?
