I don't know, but will find out. I have helped many TP members buy vehicles here in Vegas. Insurance is simple for an auto. I will ask them about motorcycles. One thing you might not know is that you need a motorcycle license to ride in most states. This can take up to week here in LV. You must pass a riding test & written test before you can obtain your motorcycle license. The problem is that the DMV must schedule your riding test. In most states, you cannot walk into the DMV and take the test the same day as people do for an auto license. are a few that might help.

Thanks for your reply. Licences are not a problem - we both have full UK motorcycle licences which are valid internationally.
Any info you can get for us with regard to the insurance though would be really helpful! Obvioulsy we want to be able to find some suitable bikes and get insured quickly and cheeply!

Thanks a lot for all the help you have given us with this. We have a much clearer idea about what we are going to do. Progressive looks like it might be the way to go and then we have the UK company I talked about as a backup.
If you happen to find out anything else or come across any more info you think will be useful for our trip please let us know. And hopefully when we get closer to Vegas we can get some advice from you about things not to miss!
