Australia Travel questions..... =)

Hey!!

If you are backpacking with Ozintro, a back pack. Possibly a small holdall (cabin baggage) too.

Take as much money as possible. How far the money goes depends on what kind of food, drink and lifestyle you want while there.

Ozintro says they will help you find work. Not a lot about and if you get work (don't rely on it), it will be hard work for little money. You will obviously need a working visa rather than an ordinary one.

August is off season but there will be lots of other tourists about then. You can try the Travel Companions section here if you can give places and dates.

only 5000pounds.You should bring at least 10 000 pounds

10,000 are you crazy? Haha I'm getting a whv so will be working whilst I travel!

I'm going to Australia in September! I've also booked into OzIntro after reading lots of good reviews about them, they seem quite good value for money I think!

I'm going to be taking a backpack I think and hoping to have roughly 6k saved by the time I go. Have you booked your flights or anything yet?

Hey Nicole,

No flights booked yet. Planning on doing it soon. Prob through sta travel as I reckon they do the best prices. What about yourself? You booked flights?

I have around 6k just now so can save more but I need to leave something for when I get back home!

Aw nice one What date you thinking of going ? Yeah my flights are booked, so excited!!

Oh that's sensible! I haven't even thought about keeping money back for when I get home haha

hey guys just a few tips:

sta are not always the cheapest, (altho they did just have a deal on for 399 return flights) look at air asia. They travel via Malaysia and once you get to Kuala Lumpur you can travel into Australia with Australian airlines such as Jetstar or Virgin Blue.

I've never heard of Oz intro, those companies can help you set stuff up but you can do it alone for a lot less money. As for trips I would suggest trying to book different trips with different companies.

Jobs can be harder to come by than you might expect as there are a lot of travellers looking for jobs. You can usually find fruit picking jobs but I would suggest looking in less well known places. Because in some towns there are waiting lists for jobs, (e.g. Bundaberg)

6,000 is definately enough money if you don't drink it all away!

Have fun, Australia is awesome.

No I am not crazy.I am just giving an honest self opinion.5000 is not much to travel for 6-8 months year.At 10000 you still have to pay rent that is at least 100 a week, phone expenses, food which is about 285 dollars a week without paying rent. After paying rent, food and phone expenses should be about 250 which leaves 35 otherwise about 50 for savings which is a reasonable reserve.I brought 15000 pounds for a years travel which is just reasonable to survive.Things are not cheap in Australia you would know soon. When you work with your working holiday visa, you get limited work and hours which doesn't help much.It would be a better plan to bring reasonable amount of money to travel here.

Thanks =) im looking to book my flights this week!
